Rui studied work sociology and is a PhD student in Organizational Behavior by ISCSP/UL, an Executive MBA and Master in HR Management by INDEG-ISCTE, and an Advanced Management Program by Católica University/ Kellogg School of Management (Chicago, EUA).

Training Manager - McDonald’s Portugal
After studying at ISCTE, in 1994 Paulo Duarte started his career as an Assistant Manager at a local McDonald’s and ranked to the top in less than 2 years when became the McDonald’s Restaurant Manager in Barreiro.
In 1998, was invited to be part of the Training Department at McDonald’s Head Office and in 2000 became Training Manager. Since then, he developed several projects and training courses addressing Portugal needs.
In 2016, he became the first Portuguese Teacher at Hamburger University in London. Paulo worked also closely with IEFP on subjects related with Training Management.
McDonald’s has ranked eighth on a list of the 25 Best Multinational Companies to Work For in the World.

Miguel is one of the 3 founders of Uniplaces and currently responsible for Empowering People, Culture, Product and External Relations.
Graduated in the UK and passionate about the startup world, he came back to Portugal where founded Uniplaces in 2012.
As a Global Shaper at World Economic Forum, Miguel was a founding member of the Lisbon hub and is currently part of the core executive team.
Uniplaces has experienced large growth since it’s inception which has led them to having one of the largest funding rounds in Europe in 2016 (22M€). Francisca has 8+ years working in a variety of HR roles, having spent most of her career outside of Portugal.
She graduated in Political Science from Universidade Nova. While in London she worked mainly in the investment banking sector, at places like Deutsche Bank and Investec, and completed a PGDiploma in HR Management from Westminster University.
Francisca later moved to Sao Paulo to take up a role as HR Manager for Brasil at Groupon, coming back to Lisbon in 2014, to work for the British Foreign Office in setting up an HR Hub for Europe and Central Asia.
She has recently joined Uniplaces as Head of People & Culture.

Gonçalo Pereira has trained in mindfulness and other awareness based related methods for over twenty-five years.
His training was done mostly in the UK, namely in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, at Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice.
For the past 17 years, he has taught Mindfulness both at his centre in Lisbon and for the corporate sector at companies such as Nova Base, Roche, Sonae, BCG, PHC, Creat IT and many others.
